WILKES-BARRE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT
Complete renovation of a former K-6 elementary school into a new secondary center serving students in grades 9-10. Renovation work included adding 25 teaching stations including a research and training center, biology laboratories, chemistry laboratories, a new administrative suite, and a renovated cafetorium and gymnasium.
Edward Mackin School (opened in January 2016) advanced through Board Approval of PlanCon Parts A - F in less than three months. PlanCon Part F was approved and contracts awarded within five months of the initial PlanCon submission.
The project was completed as a joint effort of the WBASD Design Team, comprised of A+E Group, Borton-Lawson, TGL Engineering, and Williams Kinsman Lewis Architecture.
